The lavender Harvest Begins!

  The fields are just at the perfect point to harvest for distillation.  And so begins the (almost) daily task of mornings spent harvesting and afternoons spent at the still.  It's really quite a process and I'm looking forward to the time I'll spend playing lab chemist!
  Here are a few photos demonstrating how we harvest.  The machine is a wonderful little green tea leaf harvester I had sent over from Japan.  We discovered it works quite well on cutting the lavender!  And it saves a TON of time.  We like to get out right after the dew dries and before the bees gets too busy...
